We Love Analogue Cameras

We all have a camera that is more special than the others and sometimes, we even have our photos taken with these cameras, it's unavoidable! We carry them in our bags at all times and it is the first camera that comes to our mind. Which camera is the apple of your eye?

Fisheye No. 2 has always called to me, always looking at it sideways and desiring it over all the others. When my boyfriend got a white one for me I thought there wasn’t a more beautiful camera, and that’s why it’s now my companion and one of my more special cameras…even if we fight over every reel. It’s got an independent streak and a strong character. But that’s how it is and it’s how I like it.

And what about you? Which is the one you spoil? I asked some people and here’s what they had to tell:

I have a small obsession about taking pictures of myself in the rearview mirror, so I have quite a lot of these. As it’s difficult for me to send only one, I send you some more of them.

This was the first Lomo camera I bought at eBay for €20. I love it and I never tire of it.

This was the first new Lomography camera I bought. It’s a classic that never goes out of style. This summer, with the submarine casing. I have gone for it with renewed wanting!

This has been my last acquisition and even if I like the result I haven’t tamed it yet.

This has been my great disappointment. I spent a very standard film (it was a cheap one and a grey week) and when I wanted to take it again some months later, something was going on. Most of the pictures on the film won’t develop, only the ones made at interior spaces did. I’m pondering what to do about it because I feel very sad and spent quite the money on it. Here are a few salvageable bits taken with the LC-A from the last months.

This picture (my profile picture), was one of my first experiments made with the Diana F+ (double exposure and perforated masks). Even if it’s nothing great, I like it because it was my grandfather’s camera.

I took this picture testing the focal distance of my Nikon. I had never used a “true” camera until this film.

The first one was taken with the Voigtländer Vito. It was my father’s camera since my parents were immigrants at Switzerland and I was thrilled that he gave it to me, because it has always been the family’s camera.

And the second one is from Javi. As you can see, it was taken from the black & white workshop, where I fell in love with the Lubitel!

The pictures are taken, obviously, with the LC-A+. I have to confess that it’s my second favourite Lomography camera, it has gotten to my heart very fast. But, the very first one will always be the Diana F+, but I haven’t taken any picture of myself with it. She’s a little bit shy!

I could not say which one is my favourite camera, but the little Fisheye can be blamed for me entering this world. And the picture is not mine but it’s about a day we spent at Sitges in very good company.

That’s my Diana Mini White. I particularly love this camera since it was a surprise gift from my boyfriend, with nothing to celebrate, just the day before going on holiday to Valencia last year. I was so thrilled that I spent 3 films for half-frame photos in just 2 days. Besides, I love that peculiarity: 2 pictures in 1! Best invention ever.

Made with my Fisheye 2. It’s my other favorite camera because is the first one I bought the day I discovered Lomography on the web, and I have been at it for 4 years already. So, its all-seeing lens? I love it! And being able to take pictures under water…it’s best thing ever!

What about you? Which camera did you fell in love with? Which one is your spoiled child? Tell us what a good couple you make and share your story with us!

Fisheye No. 2 has a 170-degree wide angle view and stunning barrel distortion. Now with a hotshoe and multiple and long exposure capabilities, the world’s greatest compact Fisheye camera is now more amazing than you ever thought possible! Available in different colours and special designs.
