Vintage Santa Claus Postcards

With roughly ten days left before Christmas, are you done with your Christmas list? Have you sent Christmas cards or postcards to your family and friends? If you haven't yet, you may want to send them something unique and different--like vintage Santa Claus postcards!

A few months ago, I became fascinated with stamp collecting, and inevitably, postcard collecting as well—so interested in fact that I started making handmade postcards using my own photos, some of which I sent out to my friends. When the holidays started creeping in, I looked through my archives for some Christmas-y photos I could print out and send as holiday postcards—only to find around two! So, like most people, I sent out some Christmas cards instead. However, an idea suddenly came to me: why not send out some vintage Santa Claus postcards?

But, where can I quickly find vintage Santa Claus postcards? Post offices usually release holiday stamps and occasionally sell vintage editions, but there are hardly any bookstores and craft shops that sell vintage-themed postcards. What was I to do? Why, scour the Internet, of course! Let me share with you some of my interesting finds:

Although it’s probably close to impossible for me to find some, I’m still hopeful that I could come across an actual, physical, tangible vintage Santa Claus postcard. It would definitely make a great addition to any collector’s postcard stash! I could imagine how painters, artists, and illustrators of the yester-decades worked hard and long to make sure that each postcard is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Well, I know now what I’m going to do—I’ll have some of these printed and sent out before my time runs out! If you’re looking for something unique to give to your friends, why not wish them a Merry Vintage Christmas and send out some retro-esque Santa Claus postcards as well?
