We, here at Lomography Manila, love all things analogue! In this moving pictures series, we, your friendly neighborhood web team, present you our vintage-like ventures with our newest Super 35 camera -- the LomoKino! Here is one of our writers, Joy, and her second attempt with the LomoKino!
Meet Joy — from the Magazine team!
Analogue-wise, she is the editor of the Analogue Lifestyle and Reviews sections of our International Magazine. She also writes articles and has ongoing series such as Lessons from Photography Masters, Today in History, and Vintage Camera Ads, among others.
- Likes: coffee, cats, and crafts
- Describes the LomoKino as: “Deliciously analogue, lusciously challenging, and creatively clever!"
Shot with a roll of Fuji Provia 100F, Joy considers this as her first proper LomoKino mini movie. She shot a test roll with the LomoKino a few months prior to shooting this one, so she could get a “feel” on how it renders images. She got something similar to the one taken by Chamie, as she shot it using the same film (Lomography Color Slide X-Pro 200) and tagged along with her when she decided to finish her roll.
Joy wanted to film something different from the one which Chamie shot, but, according to her, it also had to be something as busy as her streets and highways. So, she decided to visit Quiapo, a popular market place and shopping area in Manila. Joy claims, “Although the area is busiest on Fridays, there’s always something happening in Quiapo. I wanted to show what a typical day in Quiapo is like, no longer through the typical still photos, but through a mini movie shot using the LomoKino!”
Well, that was a rad mini movie! Nice choice of background music, too! Thank you for sharing your LomoKino video with us, Joy! :)
Stay tuned for the next installments of Lomography Manila Team in Motion with the LomoKino! Meanwhile, you may visit Joy’s LomoHome: plasticpopsicle.
