Clownshoes and His Weapon of Choice, the Nikon F3

Commonly, you’re supposed to not like those accurately calculating cameras and perfectly exposed photos, but Clownshoes tells you otherwise! And that you can definitely have fun with it!

There are times when we do not only need, but also want to somehow control our life. Yes, it’s a bit far from what we are used to – this randomness, unplanned blurs, and mental colour shifts we do all of the time that it might be quite hard for others to digest those ultra-sharp shots taken from more serious kinds of film cameras. On the other hand, Clownshoes seems quite thrilled about it!

Name: Blaine A. Vernicek
LomoHome: clownshoes
Weapon of Choice: Nikon F3

Why is this analogue camera your weapon of choice?

I’ve had older manual Nikons; but never so accurate and adaptable. I’m going nuts with the waist level viewer I have for it.

Do you like light leaks in your shots?

It’s rare that I get serious light leaks in my shots. There is a certain type of leak I like; when you get it just at the top and bottom of the film. It’s just impossible to have it with this kind of camera, unless if I forcefully open the back of it!

It could be just a cheap plastic toy camera or the most luxurious vintage rangefinder you have, either way, it is your weapon of choice! Want yours to be seen here next week? Then just drop us a line at jason.delosreyes@lomography.com and you’ll get to show everyone what your Lomo snaps are made of!

I have a Nikon 8008. Aside from the fact that there is no way to do double exposures, I ~LOVE~ my calculating camera. (Though I must add that I believe you can make a good photo with almost any camera out there.) Nikons are the way to go for sure!
