Wikipedia says: Autumn is one of the four temperate seasons. Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter usually in September (Northern Hemisphere) or March (Southern Hemisphere) when the arrival of night becomes noticeably earlier. For me, autumn is a time of change. It's also a time of tea, cookies, and candles.
Autumn is my favorite season of the year. Actually I have my own personal “New Year” and it starts on the 1st of September.
Icelandic autumn is very short, so I try to stay outside as long as possible to capture it’s beauty with my camera (and my eyes). The color change is amazing. Trees, ocean and mountains change their colors every single day.
When rain or wind is too strong, there is no other choice but stay at home. Oh I love love love these days. I bake cakes and cookies, make hot chocolates and coffees. The books and piano are my best friends on those days.
On Saturday mornings, my husband and I try to wake up earlier, put on warm sweaters, scarfs and mittens, and take a walk around lovely Reykjavik. Then we have breakfast in cozy café called “Ten Drops”. The last stop is flea market. This little autumn tradition makes me very happy.
I know that some people are not so excited about this season. But there is beauty in every single day. No matter if it is autumn or spring. Just try to see and enjoy it.
