Finding a lost roll is always something nice. But, finding a roll that is almost two decades old is unbelievable!
Every now and them, when we sort things out or clean up our house, we chance upon old, undeveloped rolls of film. For some reason, they were just never brought to the lab for processing.
Such was the similar case we had a couple of moths ago; when I found, in my wife’s house, a rather old roll of film. The gathering rust around the rims of the canister, and the rather unfamiliar brand, led me to believe that the film could have not been used anytime time recently (a few years back).
It could have contained anything or nothing at all; but what did it contain?!
When the scans came back, they had the answer. First of all, it did contain something! More than that, my guess that it was a very old roll was confirmed, judging for how the photos looked.
Looking closely, one can see that the photos were taken on New Year’s Day! My wife’s childhood, kept inside a rusty canister, and seeing the light of day for the first time! My wife is 27 years old, and here she is in the picture, barely a few feet tall.
The succeeding photos reveal how old the roll was! Some of the photos were take on my wife’s 9th birthday! There she was, blowing her cake’s candle shaped number 9. So, if she is 27 this year, that means that the roll of film was at least 18 years old! Eighteen years kept hidden in the dark!
What have lost rolls revealed you?
