Hilary Walsh has a parrot and makes photos. Her photos of women are really amazing, nude or not. Raised in Philadelphia but born in San Francisco, she simply LOVES film photography and she’s proud of that. Her book called “Lola” has already been published.
“Shooting. It can take one week or it can take two years. I don’t know.”
This was the first sentence that left me astonished. That’s a great way of thinking about photography: don’t hurry, take it easy.
Hilary Walsh is a young photographer, wife, and mother. And obviously she’s a fashion photographer who shot lots of celebrities and musicians: Lady Gaga and Jack Johnson are only two of them.
In her interview for Camerabag.tv, she states, “Someone tells me, ‘What? Are you shooting on film?’ These are my pictures. What can I say?” I agree with her. Why should I feel that my pictures are obsolete? I really like all my analog shots and she is a pro photographer, even though she uses film cameras. We should take her as an example.
“There’s a job that entirely disappeared on my hard drive. With film this is not possible: you just know that your job is there! The world is evolving… slowly.”
She published a book called “Lola.” It features photos of one girl, taken during a long period of time, more than a year. You can buy it on her website for $50.
