Cameras Captured by Artist Hearts

So many artists can't seem to resist analogue cameras. Here's a selection of illustrations depicting our favourite optical gadgets alongside a wistful rambling on the subject of cameras in art.

From the technical and geometrical symmetry and intrigue of the intricate architecture of our optical friends, to the dreamy pastel daydream sketches pulled from a pastel wonderland, there’s a million different ways to show your undying love for these wondrously varied devices. A myriad of artists frequently find themselves stumbling into an endless wonderland of cute cameras, capturing their fragile artist hearts with a click and a whirr.

Whether with hurried scribbles thickening wildly like Alistair Darling’s eyebrows, or perfectly measured lines and curves meeting softly like old friends, the camera will be a subject long drawn on for artistic adventure.
