Meet Filipino lomographer, stitch!

Being a lomographer in the Philippines, there are a lot of fellow enthusiasts I look up to. Their work, as much as their persona, are a true source of inspiration to me. One of them is a fellow who likes to be called stitch.

I have known Sir Jimmy or stitch since about two or three years ago. In a world where anyone can openly share lomographs via social networking sites, it is not a surprise that I bumped into Sir Jimmy’s work. I cannot remember the exact moment when I added him up as an online buddy in Multiply, but I am guessing that I did so because I probably saw a photo of his that blew my mind.

For the most part of the past three years, I am not that actively involved in the community of lomographers in the Philippines. That would probably explain why I have never met Sir Jimmy personally; not until he and I both got involved in a photographic project of sorts.

In person, stitch seems to very calm and collected; quite remote from the alien character he named himself after. He has a lot of stories to share, and even more photographic wisdom to impart. When people ask what Lomography is, we vaguely reply that it is a lifestyle incline towards analogue photography. “But what kind of lifestyle is that?” Well, Sir Jimmy would make a good case study. I doubt if he ever leaves his house without his LC-A+. Even when he is busy with his day job, he makes it a point to shoot, and to participate in different Lomographic and analogue endeavors. His technique and skill is truly undeniable! Every time he posts something new, I go, “I wish I took that photo!”
