The Diana World Tour Lands In Toronto!

Along with the Detrich collection and Diana Vignettes submitted by Canadian Lomographers, a very special exhibition of Diana F+ cameras customized by Canadian artists are on display. Aganetha Dyck is a Canadian artist who is interested in environmental issues, specifically the power of the small. She is interested in inter species communication. Her research asks questions about the ramifications all living beings would experience should honeybees disappear from earth. Dyck received the Governor General’s Award in Visual & Media Arts in 2007. Dyck is developing a new body of work relating to honeybees.

Amy Ball is a recent graduate from Concordia University with a BFA in Studio Arts and a double major in Communication Studies. Drawing and print making are her constant mediums, but she has worked alternatively in graphic design, video, photography, sculpture, programming, installation and event based works. Originating from the Yukon Territory, themes of community, place, and impressions of rural are fundamental to her work – in concept, content and process.

Barbara Sternberg has been making (experimental) films since the mid-seventies. Her films have been screened widely in North America and Europe in artist-run centres and galleries, including the prestigious Museum of Modern Art in New York, George Pompidou Centre in Paris, and Ontario Cinematheque in Toronto. Her films are in the collections of Queen’s University, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the National Gallery of Canada. Sternberg has also participated in gallery exhibitions with mixed media installations, performance art and videos. She was co-founder of Struts gallery in Sackville, New Brunswick, was a founding member of Pleasure Dome: Film Artists Exhibition Group in Toronto, and taught in Film and Visual Arts at York University. Sternberg was awarded the Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts in 2011.

Wrik Mead has been producing film, video and photo based artworks for over two decades now. His work has been exhibited at galleries and festivals worldwide. He currently lives and works in Toronto, Canada.

Edmund Lam plays in electro pop group Hexes & Ohs and is an art director and illustrator. As senior art director at advertising agency CloudRaker, he helped create a viral marketing campaign for Tim Burton (TIFF), which received honours at various industry awards including the Marketing Awards, the Webbys and the One show. As an illustrator and designer, he’s worked with Montreal independent artists like Young Galaxy and the Hidden Cameras as well as organizations like the Polaris Music Prize. His concert posters have been showcased at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, Pop Montreal, Osheaga Festival and Snap!Magazine.
