Analogue Musings with yuppielove: Savouring Summer

We asked LomoCanada Community member and avid blogger yuppielove to share with us a series of short stories out of Calgary about the different ways she fits analogue into her daily life. Hope you enjoy her musings, this time about the SuperSampler and her nimble dog Coco.

The perfect day of sunshine, Lomo, and a puppy.

Hello! My name is Kait, aka yuppielove. I would love to share my analogue life with you through inspiration clippings and my Lomo snapshots. I currently shoot regularly on a SuperSampler, Diana Mini F+, and now the La Sardina. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and I live for summertime. I was born in August so this is MY time of year. Any moment to spend in the glorious sunshine is a moment savoured. Sometimes it’s just the simple pleasures, like picnicking in the park, playing fetch with your pooch, or stopping to smell the flowers once and while, that really catch you off guard and make you fall in love with life.

Candidly sniffing flowers. Who am I kidding? This shot was totally her idea!

One my favourite ways to spend a summer afternoon is to hang out in my parent’s backyard with our family dog, the lovely afro’d Coco. Seeing things from her happy-go-lucky perspective, getting down in the lush green grass, and exploring the yard is a whole new territory to someone who usually spends her days typing and designing and editing at a desk. It’s refreshing. You should try it sometime.

Fellow photographer and brother manages to jump in for a shot.

Next time you are playing with your pet in the park, get down to their level and they’ll be sure to show you things worth snapping a photo of. Just call ’em your new artistic director.

Trying to capture her adorably furry smile and erratic movements is usually near impossible with a regular camera (usually just turns into a little brown blur) but thanks to the superfast SuperSampler I could track her through the vast jungle of the backyard.

It must be nice to be so carefree.

The flowers smell so much sweeter down here. Obviously the Pink Flamingo thinks so too!

The Actionsampler Clear snaps up a series of four images on one 35mm print. This multilens camera records your subject’s movement and now has an ultra cool transparent body. See it with the rest of our Multilens cameras here!
