This is Not a Toy!

I don’t about know you, but I often get people wondering and asking whether my Diana Mini actually works -- because it’s so cute and tiny, and it has no screen on the back. I appreciate that, but I think they should take the little one more seriously because it is not a toy!

Last year, whilst visiting Budapest, we stopped at on of the Europa cinemas there to buy some DVDs. The woman at the counter was very amused by the contraption around my neck, and even asked whether I was wearing it as ‘solidarity’ towards my other half, who was carrying a Nikon D40.

At first, I was a bit angry to be quite honest, but I can’t miss the fact that it’s a funny story. She thought it was a plastic ornament! An accessory, just like a necklace, which I was simply wearing around my neck; you know, just for kicks.

Not the case! The Diana Mini works! And as we all know, it can take some seriously excellent shots. See it for yourself, here’s some of the results from our trip to Hungary:

What about you? Got any similar, quirky stories? Please share them! And in the meantime, keep rockin’ it and lomo on!

The Diana Mini is the ultra-compact, petite version of the Diana F+. This camera takes soft-focused, lo-fi images in 35mm and allows you to change between half-format and square shots with a flick of a switch. Get your own Diana Mini now!

Yeah, my friends at school thought my Di Mini was a toy, too... and once an H&M employee came to me while I was looking for some clothes and said "oh wow I love your necklace" :D
