Midweek Movies: One Hour Photo

Time for a midweek movie, folks! Today we do a rewind with One Hour Photo - a 2002 movie about a photo laboratory employee and his unhealthy obsession with a suburban family.

One Hour Photo tells the story of a lonely photo lab employee (played by Robin Williams). His life is a lackluster routine – he spends his time at work and has no one to go home to, except for a pet hamster. His only interaction with people is when he attends to their film development needs, but he’s particularly enamored with the Yorkin family – and this is when a simple interest turns into a full-blown obsession.

Written and directed by Mark Romanek whose work includes music videos for Johnny Cash (“Hurt”), Nine Inch Nails (“Closer”), Weezer (“El Scorcho”), Madonna (“Rain”), among others.

@explorette I agree! I felt sorry for Robin Williams's character but he was also too creepy!

it is not a good movie, for me " war photographer - james nachtwey ", " photography geniuses ", and maybe " the bang bang club ", and also " the live and death of kevin carter ".

That all-white grocery aisle scene... *shudders* Lots of film and camera cameos though!
