A Tribute to My Father

I can say that my father has an analogue lifestyle.

My father has a truly analogue lifestyle. Why, you may ask?

When he was born (1947) and during his childhood and youth, everything was analogue. The toys he played were handmade and made of wood, sometimes, an old bicycle wheel and a stick means hours of fun.

When he joined the army, he had to go to Angola during the Portuguese Colonial War.

During the war, my father took a lot of pictures, as he had an enlarger there. He printed the pictures and sent them to my mother.

Some years later, my father had an Olympus Trip 35. I remember how happy he was whenever he brings home new pictures. Normally, he used slide films, so whenever he switched on the slide projector, we knew it will be a great evening watching pictures of our birthdays or holidays.

Today, my father works with a local community (Sport Império Marinhense) making scenarios for the theater group or simply decorating the community house with paints or with polystyrene sculptures for the parties that they host.

Sometimes and only to friends, he also makes polystyrene sculptures for children’s birthday parties.

I can say that my father has an analogue lifestyle.
