My First Professional Photo Shoot

I Hate Paris. No, I don't hate Paris. It's just that my client, an independent band, is called I Hate Paris.

Like I said, I Hate Paris is a four-piece indie rock group from Barcelona.

A week or so ago, we went to Montjuïc to do what turned out to be my first professional photo shoot.

We met a month earlier to talk about how they wanted the pictures, the kind of camera or reel that they’d prefer. They told me that they were very interested in Lomo aesthetics, but had no idea what the best choice was.

I told them that warm toned reels, Redscale 50-200, together with an LC-A+ camera could yield amazing results. They had to trust me on that.

The chosen day was a Saturday afternoon. The sky was gray and the light conditions were not ideal for photo shoots, so I started to doubt.

We entered into the forest. Although there was little light, it made for a beautiful setting.

Then I thought that getting away from the forest and looking for the light wouldn’t be a bad option, either, so I started making some double exposures.

One of them was afraid of my weird movements, rotating the camera, taking photos on top of each other, and pushing little buttons, so he asked me if there was a possibility that I took normal pictures. I agreed to take some. A bit of seriousness never hurt.

I also decided to take some photos from afar so they would have more options.

The next day, I couldn’t go to the lab so the wait kind of killed me.

Did I do okay? Will they like it? Was there enough light? Did I put the film on correctly? Should I have used the flash?

On Monday night, I had the results. I was aware of the possibility that the band won’t like my work, since they were not the usual band pictures.

But their feedback resounded with positivity, so I suppose that went really well. Thank you for trusting me!

Why you translate the name of the band? The original name is "Odio Paris", in spanish. And they sound really great :-)

Feels the same like @faridiqbal 'lack of confident'. When someone ask me to get some commercially photshoot of them/it I would think twice for that. Exceptional if it friends of mine, just like my recent albums. ;D

After saw your RS50-200 picture think I should try that film soon, really cool!
