I’d assume that as lovers of analogue photography, we all share the same obsession for prints. Maybe those into the digital grind feel the opposite with images and music. They’d rather buy it online than spend for disks. Thanks to Radiohead for proving them wrong.
Radiohead’s latest album The King of Limbs is packaged so beautifully that I’d compare it to meeting an old friend personally instead of chatting online. It’s designed by Stanley Donwood using the treatment of a Sunday broadsheet.
From the black and white illustrations to the clever use of typography, I gasp for joy every time I see this. It engages all the senses like a ritual. Maybe experiencing this is like drinking tea—first flip is joy, the second is gladness, the third is serenity, the fourth is madness, the fifth is ecstasy.
Match that with the scent of freshly inked paper—oh it’s pure bliss!
Forgive my poeticizing, but it is with pleasure that I admit my adoration for beautiful things that my hand can hold.

I can totally relate to everything you wrote. Indeed, "The King of Limbs" is one of their organic albums. And I think you know what I mean! Great article! :)
