We got a sweet email from a community member recently, it read: Hello! I'm new to Lomography but already a faithful disciple, here's a video where I share my analogue love. It's about the 10 Golden rules, my city Beirut, my friend Yumna, my Diana F+. I would love to hear from you who have been filling my days with colors and daze with this wonderful site!
So we wrote her back and asked her to send us some words about the video so we could post it here for all to enjoy! Check out some of orpheuswasawoman’s pictures, enjoy the video, and welcome her to the community!
O h wow
H eap of joy
The idea for the video came at the same time when asked what Lomography was to me. My answer had to be concise and clear, but also represent the exuberant spirit of my new passion. What other than the 10 golden rules to summarise all of that? Following this revelation was a series of tea and coffee meetings with Yumna, brainstorming about situations and angles, speed and movement. Then again, the moto is, and always will be: Just shoot! And so we did. We found ourselves on rooftops and strangers’ bathrooms, roaming the streets, whether it rains or shines, convincing the photostore owner to lend us his macro lense for a few minutes ( “… just a few minutes! We’re not getting past the sidewalk sir…” considering we never had used one before, ever… Like a puzzle it all came together in the end, bits and pieces here and there formed the Lomoloveletter I’ve been meaning to tell!
