This is the story of Mary, the beautiful woman behind the man. She is the model wife and and the most wonderful person a husband could ever ask for. Here's a little portrait of the love of our life that we have built together.
There is a person that comes into your life sometimes and disrupts it. They change it, and turn you into a someone else. Your life is set on cruise control and you are just existing in this world. Then someone like Mary comes along. She is a very strong woman and doesn’t take any bullshit from anyone. Never afraid to speak her mind. Beautiful, fun, and addicting to be around.
Me, a young man, being very quiet and keeping to myself in the back of the room, I usually go along with anything. I let everything slide by me, never standing up for myself. She came along turned this boy into a man. A man who takes up for the things that matter. A man with something to live for and it sounds like a cliche, but I realize now that my life had no purpose before I met her. I was just floating along, no goals, and no purpose.
Not only did she change me into a man, but a husband, and a father. I try to portray her the best I can in my lomographs. The pictures of her are stolen from our life. The song “She don’t know she’s beautiful” rings true with Mary because I have never taken a picture of her with her consent. She actually doesn’t like getting her picture taken. The pictures of her look real and not posed because the are.
She is the woman behind the man. The supports me in my lomographical quest, and for that, I am grateful. She is everything I am not. My other half, and without her, I am just a camera without any film.
