1. How did you first meet Lomography?

I stumbled across Lomography, around 5 years ago. I was searching for some pictures in the internet and suddenly, there was this magic square shot, taken with a camera called Holga. The picture has everything that I was missing in my earlier digital shots, like lightleaks, vignette and a really soft blur. After some research I found out about the Lomography movement and around one week later I was the proud owner of a HOLGA CFN.

2. What is your Lomography Philosophy?

With my style, I’d like to capture a moment in the life of another person. I always prefer the candid way of shooting because if a person recognize the camera or you even asked for a picture they will start to pose and lose their natural outlook. This will destroy the whole scene for me. Sometimes it can be nice but I like to capture real emotions.

3. What is your saddest moment in your life? And the happiest one?

I can’t specify one special moment but a lot of sad and happy moments happened at airports because of my long distance relationship with my (now) wife. She lived in Taiwan, I lived in Germany, then I moved over and stay in Taiwan for 2 years, then she lived in germany for a while but we always have to say goodbye and see each other again on airports. That is why this place is always really emotional for me and this might be also one reason why I take so many pictures on airports.

4. What is your experience being an admin user?

Being an admin user is a real honor for me and I’m taking this thing very serious. I’m trying to help where I can and always try to come out with some productive and creative ideas like new workshops, competitions, rumbles or locations.

5. Who is your favorite photographer?
I can’t name only one photographer I like, but here are some names which are definetely worth some research: Ryan McGinley, Terry Richardson and Juergen Teller because these guys are really punkrock and really invented a complete new aesthetique when they shoot with small compact cameras instead of PRO-DSLRs.

Futhermore William Eggleston, Tohyama Yukhi or Garry Winogrand.

6. Define Analogue Lifestyle

I am born in 1972, which means when I grow up I still used a lot of analogue stuff, like vinyl records and tapes instead of CDs, VHS Tapes instead of DVDs or Blu-Ray Discs and also film instead of SD cards for saving pictures. Somehow I like the feeling that you have when you use analogue products, it reminds me of my childhood maybe and give me some warm memories.

7. Can you imagine the world without Analogue?

No, I can’t but maybe without Digital.

8. When did you last kiss?

My last great kiss was 2 days ago, when I picked up my wife from the trainstation after she stayed in Taiwan for the last 5 weeks.

9. What was your last meal?

My last meal was a Mozarella / Tomato Bagel, 10 Minutes ago in my lunchbreak.
