My LomoStory - minty_

I don't know what it was: fate, a coincidence or an accident... but here I am. I remember that day. It was a nice sunny Sunday afternoon. I was bored to death and just surfing through the Internet. Then I honestly don't know what happened.

I got lost and found myself reading this interesting stuff about plastic cameras and lomography. I fell in love. It felt like I found a missing piece of myself. Later that week I bought a Fisheye 2 which I found from a nearby town.

I’ve always liked cameras. They’re fascinating. When I was a kid I remember how everything important was captured to film with our Flash Fujica S. (I also always wanted to try to take a picture myself.) My whole childhood can be found from those photos. Now when it’s “the digital era” no one in our family uses that camera anymore, except me. It’s my very own memory catcher.

I don’t anymore remember when I got my first own camera but it was a birthday present and it was a Olympus C-310 zoom (a digital camera, of course). I still use it every now and then but I can’t escape the fact that film cameras are just so much cooler. At the moment I own 7 cameras and 5 of them are film cameras.

So my LomoStory is a bit of a cliché. Just a normal camera lover who finds film again. But I still can’t categorize myself as “a normal person”. Actually in here where I live I’m a bit of a freak. I live practically in the middle of nowhere. I’m surrounded by trees. And whenever I grab one of my film wonders with me and go out I can feel how every single person is staring at me. My friends also always ask me “What on earth is that?!”… but I don’t care. Why should I? I’m just doing something that I truly deeply love. I’m still a beginner but I have this nice feeling that lomography will be my friend for a long long long time.

I like your story too! The Fisheye 2 was my first Lomo camera also. Uh-oh, seems like the photos weren't properly attached though. Looking forward to seeing the gallery minty :)
