What is the place of Super 8 Film in the digital world? Austin-based South by Southwest (SXSW) tackles the wonders of using Super 8 Film in this year's SXSW Music and Media Conference & Festival.
Not long ago, South by Southwest held its annual Interactive, Film and Music conferences & festivals in Austin, Texas. There were 250+ films, 1800+ bands, 400+ talks, 4 exhibitions, and hundreds of special events featured, including the wonders of Super 8 film – a motion picture film format, which was produced by Kodak in the ’60s.
Led by Pro8mm President Philip Vigeant, the SXSW speakers which included Trigger Studios Adam Garner, independent filmmaker Ashley Maynor of Preservation Project Films, and Branden Lower of A Bryan Photo, they discussed the advantages and challenges of using Super 8 film. Going for an art nouveau look? Want something a bit more vintage looking? Like the gritty, scratchy appeal of U2’s Rattle & Hum? With just a cartridge change you can achieve the look that you want!

I have a Bell&Howell Super 8 that is great apart from processing - I live in Hong Kong and so have to send films to the USA for developing. If you are going to make new Super 8 cameras - can you also help with getting film developed globally too please???
