Alias: drudolph
City: Indianapolis, Indiana
Country: USA
Age: 23

Bio: I am a 23 year old graphic designer/photographer/father/husband from Indianapolis, Indiana, where I live with my beautiful wife (Tara) and son (Clive Sufjan). I first fell in love with my Diana+ but now own severalanalogue gems, including the amazing Lubitel.

1. How long have you been a Lomographer? How did you get into it?
I have been a Lomographer for about a year now. I got into lomography when I found a Diana+ on a website. I bought it and immediately went to lomography.com to find what else there was out there. That sparked an immediate love for photography in me and thanks to you guys, now I am a photographer professionally and I use my Lubitel to shoot a lot of my portrait shots. I love analogue photography so much that I have gotten several of my friends to join the Lomography uprising!

2. What do you most love about the Lubitel?
The beautiful twin lens! The colors and saturation that you can capture with this camera are incredible.

3. Describe the Lubitel in five words.
Romantic, Angelic, Retro, Reliable, Beautiful

4. The strangest, funniest, or hands-down greatest photographic/Lomographic encounter that you have ever had.
Hasn’t happened yet.

5. If your photos shown here could have a soundtrack of three songs, what would they be (song title & artist please).
“I turn my camera on” – Spoon, “Dress me like a clown” – Margot & The Nuclear So & So’s, “Love Affair” – Copeland

6. What kind of person is most likely to be a Lubitel Lover? Tell us all about them.
People with patience and those that are fed up with not knowing whether their shots are in focus. Also, people who see lomography as an art rather than just a hobby.

7. If you could be anywhere, doing anything, right now – where would it be and what would you do?
I would love to be a “professional” Lomographer who just travels the world taking pictures with my Lubitel.

8. How can the Lubitel change your approach to photography – or life in general?
It forces you to guess, which in my opinion is very Lomo…

9. What is the best frame of mind for excellent Lubitel shots? What should your attitude be?
Relaxed is the best attitude to have. If you start to worry about whether you remembered to wind the camera you will miss some great shots and then you break the rules of Lomography.

10. If you could give a Lubitel to anyone in the world (as a gift), who would it be?
Any photographer who thinks that digital is the only way to capture amazing shots.

11. Where did you buy your Lubitel? Which model do you own (or do you own several?)
I bought my Lubitel 166B on eBay for next to nothing. I currently only own one.

12. Your advice to future Lubitel shooters.
Focus and shoot… Let the camera do the rest. The camera is called the “amateur” for a reason.
