*scratches my nose – so let us begin!
As Wikipedia says – Red is any of a number of similar colours evoked by light consisting predominantly of the longest wavelengths of light discernible by the human eye, in the wavelength range of roughly 625–740 nm. Longer wavelengths than this are called infrared (below red), and cannot be seen by the naked human eye. Red is used as one of the additive primary colours of light, complementary to cyan, in RGB colour systems. Red is also one of the subtractive primary colours of RYB colour space but not CMYK colour space. In human colour psychology, red is associated with heat, energy, and blood, and emotions that “stir the blood”, including anger, passion, and love.
So now what? Did it make any images in your mind yet? Did you think it over? Did you see red? Ok – Well you may have seen it this red film hanging out in various Lomohomes here on the website; but did you try it yet? I mean c’mon paint this Lomo world of yours red for a day – it might make you see things in an alternative way – maybe old things become new again. Say it with colour, be bold as brass, make a big smile and show all of your teeth walk backwards and shoot a roll, but be careful. Hey you could always borrow someone else’s shoes and shoot some rolls of film wearing them – see how it feels – combine the senses – It’s good to experiment, do new things, try new things, so maybe this is your way to have yourself some fun?
Personally I love the contrast you get and the different warmth it gives you when you look at the images – it makes me smile and smiling is a good thing.
