Fuji Superia (35mm, 400 iso) User-Review
written by zark on August 25th, 2009 , 6 comments (2 votes)

I must admit I´m a low light fan. There´s nothing more satisfying than shooting in a situation where light are somehow difficult. Yet that is no problem with an automatic or semi automatic camera and the Fuji Superia 400.

While shooting in bright light like on a sunny afternoon you´ll get countless pictures that may look nice and colourful but bad light can be good light when it comes to uniqueness. Nevertheless, when shooting in bright sunlight, 400 ISO supports short shutter times for moving motives and extra bold colours.

The Superia produces sharp and glossy images. Where some other 400 ISO films get grainy and washed out this film is a real winner. I love this film for indoor shots preferably with artificial light. Here you´ll get nice and rich greens or oranges. The 400 ISO makes it possible to shoot out of the hand without using a tripod most of the time.

While most of the ISO 400 films disappointed me the Superia really shines.

Special Tip for you lomographers in Germany: The drugstore with the big red “R” sells a trade brand 400 ISO Film; I´m 99% sure that this film is a Superia 400. I can´t tell the difference, when you can or have the same experience, drop me a line.

WoW impressing gallery! The pictures are so sharp and no grain! In my country superia is very grainy, it think it depends where it was made!
