Ferrania Solaris FG (35mm, 400 iso) User-Review

• First Trial

I bought a Golden Half camera recently and it came packaged with a roll of Ferrania Solaris 35mm film. After shooting my images and getting them processed I found that the results were great.

• How To Use

I wasn’t sure how the film would come out so I tried a lot of different lighting conditions. The film is very versatile in almost any lighting condition. I used the flash on some of the images at the dance in a very dark environment and the results were good, if not a little blown out.

Next I tried in a normal room and the film reacted great even picking up some pretty colours from ambient light.

Outdoors was easy and is where the film truly shines. It will give you a very dense negative with lots of detail and information.

• Final Thoughts

The results that I have were higher than expected and have convinced me to purchase more of the film. In some forums1 people have expressed where to get some of the film. Some people have even said that the film goes for about $1 U.S. and that is very cheap to me.

I've got some Solaris in 100iso and love it! It actually cost me .99 a roll at a local shop. I like the quality of the film, especially in my Fisheye.

On another note, I love your photos, and the Golden Half camera is next on my list!
