A very nice film for spring and summer shootings: Agfa Optima 120, ISO 200, negative film.
Although its … brrrrr … pretty cold and even kind of grey on the northern hemisphere at the moment, I would like to present a film for spring and summer days to you. It can never be too early to prepare yourself for the next spring …
The Agfa Optima 120 (ISO 200) produces a great corner-vignetting in a lot of different light conditions. For example try it out before sunset with the sun in your back like on my balloon pictures! However, also shots against sunlight result in strong contrasts and interesting colours.
In general, colours are vivid and grain is very fine. Even when shooting outside in bright lights you’ll get a warm yellowish tone (for example please refer to the sample picture with the “swallow!” street art).
And don’t forget the peppermint flavour of the final wrapping band which I’ve already described in my review of the Agfa Optima 120, ISO 400! Actually I would recommend a film with higher ISO (like the Agfa Optima 400) for indoor shots or shots after dusk. Nevertheless, when applying the B-mode of your Holga for example this film produces nice warm colours with reddish tones.
Unfortunately, the production of this wonderful film has been stopped. That means, you only get parts of the dead stock from special online retailers if you are lucky to find one.
