Capturing the Drama: Sharp, nice tones and very affordable!
Fuji Neopan 400 is easily my favorite black and white film. It strikes a balance between intense colors, flexibility and affordability. I’m not exactly a connoisseur of black and white films but for an average user like myself I find the sharpness of the images and the fine grain to be quite pleasing . Retailing between 2 and 3 USD, choose this film when you want to capture something intense and dramatic or inject a little class to an ordinary everyday moment.
I’ve made the mistake of using it and aiming the camera directly at the sun on a really hot and dry day which tends to blow the image a bit. The intense blacks and the muted grays are something I really appreciate with this film.
Some people would say that this intensity is cold and off putting, but personally I like the richness of the tones.
