The VC (vivid colors) films by Kodak have a really great quality: they’re colorful and sharp, have great texture and are very adaptable to different lighting conditions. One of my favorite from this VC product line is the 400 VC 120mm.
I love using the 120 400 VC with my Rolleiflex, because I know that I’ll never be disappointed by the results. Recently, I made a new double experience with a Canadian Photographer (met him through JPG magazine site) named François Gaboury. He has no experience when it comes to the “double exposure” technique and that he wanted to give it a try.
The best film which came in my mind to use in a 120 film swapping double was this 400 VC and so we made it. What a better way to test and see the qualities of a film than double exposing it? This puts the film in more extrême conditions and you can see its ability to adapt to different situations.
The results are really interesting and even by double exposing the 400 VC, the colors are bright, the texture and grain are sharp and fine. There’s no saturation of color but at the same time the VC always adds a bright and clear contrast and the colors are beautiful on every shot. What a great film!! Every 120 user should have some 400 VC in his fridge, for sure!! :)))
