MOVEMBER with LoMOgraphy @ Lomography Gallery Store Soho ended almost 3 years ago

Movember is the month formerly known as November, where men and women across the globe join together to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues. We have events and workshops all month so you can get involved to help raise awareness for this cause. It’s time to grow that mo!

Month-long ‘Grow that Mo’ challenge for MOVEMBER
We are calling out to six brave chaps to step up and volunteer to grow their mo’s! We will hand out a Diana Mini camera with flash and a roll of film to each and all you need to do is take one self-portrait a day for 31 days to document the growth of your moustache! We will then use the images and make a stop motion mini-movie featuring your glorious new, itchy mo! The best, bushiest one gets to keep the camera as a prize!
This is free and is on a first come, first served basis. Please book in and come in store to collect the camera between Oct 24-31. You must be ready and willing to commit totally to this project – no chickens allowed!

UPDATE: THE GROW YOUR MO CHALLENEGE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED AND WE HAVE 10 CONTENDERS FOR THE BIGGEST BUSHIEST MO GROW. STAY TUNED IN THE FIRST WEEKS OF DECEMBER FOR THE WINNER – all other events are still open so book in advance to avoid missing out!

LoMOwalk: The Barbershop crawl with the LC-A+ camera
13th November, Sunday from 1pm

A leisurely Lomowalk from our Soho store to barbershops at Penhaligons, Pall Mall Barbers and Murdock’s in Liberty, all set up specially for Movember, is the agenda for the afternoon. Have a look around, get snapping and possibly get a wet shave as well… it’s all up to you! We’ll wander around scenic Soho and Covent Garden and enjoy a drink in the market area. This is a great chance to raise awareness for this charity and also get to practice shooting on the LC-A+ camera!
Tickets are £15 and include free moustache for the girls, lend-a-camera LC-A+, a presentation, a roll of film, a complimentary drink and discounts on film processing.

Shoot your Mo-trait with the Lubitel 166+
19th November, Saturday from 1pm

We’ll start with a basics course on the Lubitel 166+ camera then take to the streets shooting black&white portraits of ourselves and each other, and possibly spotting bros with mos and asking them if they want their portraits taken as well (we’ll have fake ones to give out to the girls). This is the best time to try your hand out at portraiture photography and spread awareness at the same time! Your portraits from the day will then be on display in store from the 24th.
Tickets are £15 and include free moustache for the girls, lend-a-camera Lubitel166+, a presentation, a roll of film and discounts on film processing. 5×5 size prints of all photos will be free and yours to keep after exhibition.

LoMOparty: The Big Mo-down!
24th November, Thursday from 5-9pm

Big old knees up and everyone is welcome, particularly those in the mo! Join us for a party in store to celebrate Movember – there’ll be free moustaches for the ladies, drinks and nibbles, games and prizes (pin the mo on the donkey, anyone?), an exhibition of mo-traits featuring shots from various workshops and competition submissions online, the revelation of the stop-motion videos of the ‘Grow your Mo’ project PLUS a special live in store performance! Invite your friends, this event is FREE!
