On May 19th New York City was buzzing with Lomographic excitement. The teasers and sneak peeks had everyone wondering what super crazy cool new camera Lomography would introduce.
This was the night we had all been anticipating for so long! The first big new camera launch party of 2011.
Party-goers arrived to a circus/carnival vibe with popcorn, cotton candy, face- painting, balloons, music, corn dogs and of course rainbow cupcakes! The bar’s signature cocktail for the night was the ‘Wide’ Russian!
The Lomography Gallery Store on 23rd street filled up quickly with eager Lomographers and their fiends. Before we knew it everyone was shoulder-to-shoulder, moving & grooving to the classic tunes of DJ Elder Brother.
The great three ring (flash) photo-booth was available to take in instant photo to remember the night.
At last, it was time for the unveiling of the new camera! A white cloth obscured the product display, and after everyone’s attention was focused, the cloth was dramatically yanked away to to reveal the beautiful black wooden boxes of new cameras. Introducing the LC-Wide!!!
The ohhhs & ahhhhs echoed throughout the room as the impressive features of the camera were highlighted.
After the introduction of the camera, the music was cued back up and a magician began to make his rounds showing his mind-boggling tricks to everyone as they waited to flip though the hardcover book of LC-Wide photos and a chance get a feel for the new camera.
Needless to say this night was an epic event! Here is a full gallery of photos from the night:
