In full blown Spring on a lovely Saturday, nine eager lomographers set forth to conquer the wonderful challenge of the Lubitel Universal 166+ at NYC’s Lomography Gallery Store in Greenwich Village.
As one of the most mysterious and intricate cameras at Lomography, we had been excited for weeks to discover its inner beauties. With its charming twin lenses and the crisp striking photographs unique to the Lubitel 166+, we couldn’t wait to get out in the sun to photograph performers, chess players, street artists, and so many excited dogs bounding around with their owners in Washington Square Park, just down the street from the shop.
The park was alive with people and music of all kinds! And blooming with spring tulips and cherry blossoms, the park was a rainbow of colors. Armed with the new knowledge of F-stops and shutter speeds as well as how to properly meter light, we held our cameras at our waists to thoughtfully capture these wonderful sights through the top of the camera. The magic of seeing our pictures on the ground glass was thrilling!
