Join us for one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find in Vienna!
We are sure you all know about the popular phenomenon of urban games or street games. One of the most successful, fun and exiting is “Journey to the End of the Night”. A worldwide, free street game run by hard-working volunteers everywhere from London to Los Angeles. The next city to be taken over by the Journey to the End of the Night is Vienna on May 15th!
Sound good so far? That’s good because it gets better. Quite frankly we are talking about an outdoor game of epic proportions. This year about 600 people are expected to race through the streets of Vienna through a series of checkpoints as quickly and as stealthily as possible, while avoiding being caught by “chasers”. The first player to reach the endpoint without being tagged is the winner, though anyone who survives is deservedly praised and feted at the end. Those who fall become chasers themselves, rising to pursue their former friends and allies.
Players may not use skates, bikes, or cars, only their feet and public transportation.
When Lomography heard about this exciting, totally analogue, far out event we knew we had to be a part of it. If you feel the same way, join the Journey to the End of the Night Vienna too and see us there.
