LC-A 25th Anniversary Party in Madrid ended about 5 years ago

It was hot, hot, and hot in Madrid the evening of Friday June 19, and especially hot in the Lomography headquarters and embassy in Argensola number one. A multitude of feverish enthusiasts were there, ready to celebrate and enjoy the great birthday party of the world’s best camara, our beloved, wonderful LC-A.

It was hot, hot, and hot in Madrid the evening of Friday June 19, and especially hot in the Lomography headquarters and embassy in Argensola number one. A multitude of feverish enthusiasts were there, ready to celebrate and enjoy the great birthday party of the world’s best camara, our beloved, wonderful LC-A.+

It was indeed an unforgettable party. We all survived the festive atmosphere thanks to the mojitos, and “cool cocktails” of the best Russian Vodka – loaded with ice. The waiters told us that they had served more than 500 cocktails.

The surprise and hottest point of the evening was the unexpected arrival of two crew cosmonauts of a soviet sputnik, which had lost its way and been circling round in space for almost a quarter of a century, as we later found out.

It would seem that lomographic magnetic waves eventually brought the spaceship down to earth, where they landed in the vicinity of the Lomographic headquarters in Madrid.

Between us all, we managed to open the hatch, and Igor and Vladimir, our two happy but rather giddy cosmonauts slowly emerged, still under the effects of loss of gravity. They were a little confused at first, but soon recovered to see that they were in the right place at the right time. And, of course, they were very thirsty.

They stayed with us for the rest of the evening. We blew out the candles of the Lomo birthday cake, completely melted by the heat, and our friend Irina, accompanying herself on the accordion, regaled us with old Russian songs. And we drank; we drank a lot.

Our party continued into the small hours of the morning, helped along by our famous Lomo DJ Tato, with the best tunes of the eighties, singing and dancing.

And with this, we are sending a special message to the powers that be, that we do not have to wait another quarter of a century for our next party.

And as to our cosmonauts ; we helped them put on their helmets, and sent them off in their space ship, where they are orbiting again in search of another Lomography site on Planet Earth.
