The LC-A anniversary is quickly coming up! We asked for you party ideas and you responded well! Today we are proud to announce the first host to be selected, and it is none other than golfpunkgirl from the Philippines. Read on to find out what will be happening in Baguio City next month!

“Baguio City is located north of the Philippines, about a 6hour bus ride from Manila. Its a popular tourist destination and the moment I hinted that I might be willing to have this party, there was a huge response… currently 40 Lomographers from Manila alone are willing to make the trek for the independence day weekend in June to come and celebrate the birth of our favorite camera. Also it happens to be my 30th birthday on the 10th of June (party is tentatively set for the 13th of June) so I’m willing to treat everyone to lots of drinks (vodka anyone?) and a big fat LC-A cake.

The party would be held at our my family-run cafe with a travel/Lomo style joint – its small and intimate but its screams analogue photography. With everything from the menu to the wall plastered with my Lomo images which would be perfect for the LC-A birthday celebration venue. As a special addition, we also use hand-carved wooden LC-A cameras for our table napkin holders. My mother (owner of the cafe) has agreed to provide for the nibbles so our guests wont be left with an empty stomach. Ive also managed to get the biggest national daily newspaper to give us a full page spread to feature the party people and pics. Yay!

I’ve got lots of plans up my sleeve…. like party games all involving the LC-A and lots of freebies/goodie bags… will also be giving away some of the wooden LC-As as prizes for games.

Since the party will coincide with Philippine independence day (June 12th) – its a long weekend which means more people can come and parrrrty! I think we’ll easily be about 60pax. and I heard from our Lomomanila president, Bong, that the party already has a second phase being planned in another venue – something about bands and lots of drinks so it sounds like it’s going to be an all day/night blow out…. how often does one turn 25 anyway? :)"
