Wow, wow, wow, wow…
Wow, wow, wow, wow…
Londoners…listen up! We have three – just count ’em! – fantastic nights of fun, stimulation, wonder, sensual enlightenment, delight, debauchery and truly creative experiences on offer for you in the month of November…(We’re a bit like buses y’know… nothing comes along then three show up at once – HA!)
Listen up and learn it all…
The Lomography Embassy London has been invited by the Programming and Cultural Events team for the 7th DLA Latin American Film Festival, London, 2008 to create a visual exhibition to celebrate this joyous event.
The project is hosted by the charity ‘Discovering Latin America ’ (DLA)
So, what do you have to do to take part…
Well – turn up – shoot images – have fun and party! Easy.
First night is at:
Cargo
83 Rivington Street
Shoreditch
London
EC2A 3AY
2nd November 7 – 12am
DIA DE LOS MUERTOS DLA PARTY
Each two Lomographers turning up will receive TWO ENTRIES FOR THE PRICE OF ONE if you have at least one Lomographic camera between you.
Discovering Latin America is a charity run exclusively through volunteers. They organize cultural events that promote the culture of this continent. All profits go to grass-root charities in Latin America. Join them on this night to launch the DLA Film Festival 08 and to celebrate the Mexican ‘Day of the Dead’.
Hiccup will present an arresting physical theatre show with visuals. Live bands will play Brazilian electro-funk and Columbian Regaetton Hip Hop fusion. These will be followed by some of the hottest Latin DJs in London and South America.
VJs will keep your eyes alive.
LIVE: TETINE + SONIDO CALLEJERO FT. MC
MAGICO + HICCUP
DJS: TOY SELECTAH + DJ CALLUM
VJ: FIBRE OPTIC
LIVE ART: CHOPRABIKE
The theme for the night is ‘The Day Of The Dead’ so just imagine the amazing images we can all create!
Bring Lomography flash cameras please – 35mm – The London Embassy will have plenty of film to buy and cameras on lend for the night so if you want to borrow one of ours then come on down and bring some friends. Just find us in the club and we’ll sort you out.
We already have some great images sent to us by our friends at the Lomography Embassies Argentina and Mexico which we will include within the exhibition LomoWall.
All films taken on the night will be taken by The Lomography Embassy London and developed for the next night’s fun…
Second night is at:
The Railway Pub

London

LomoWall building session
Here we will make beautiful panels with all the images taken at The Day Of The Dead party.
If you couldn’t make it to Cargo but still want to come and make panels for the exhibition? Hell, that would be great!
If you haven’t been to a panel building session with us before – come along!!!! This is super fun and after a quick show through is really easy to get on with. Here we will be building a great LomoWall of all of our work to be shown the next night at…
Notting Hill Arts Club
21 Notting Hill Gate
London
W11 3JQ
14th November 6pm-2am
Free before 8pm, £4 before 10pm.
‘Batmacumba’ party and LomoWall Exhibition
The LomoWall created by us all the night before will be exhibited here at this party night so come along and gaze in wonder and awe at being involved in such a beautifully creative project with us all. Dance, drink and enjoy.
…later in life…
The LomoWall will move to:
The Ritzy Picturehouse
Brixton Oval
Coldharbour Lane
London
SW2 1JG
At this stage the communication at the Ritzy is proving to be a little on the slack side (and that’s coming from me!) so keep this space popsters and I will send the when, where and why info through when we get it all.
Come to one, two or all three events – dip in and out and enjoy. No need to RSVP to any of these nights…just come and make merry with The London Embassy! All events are over 18 only.
See you all there guys!
