This project started back in 2002 and its purpose is to capture a single moment – October 24, 10:24 GMT – as it passed through different locations over the globe.

What was intended as a one-time experiment has since grown into an annual event, with each year bringing a mix of regular and new participants from almost every continent.
To date, the project has seen participants shooting in various cities and towns in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Venezuela, Britain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Due to many requests from participants, the project was opened to non-lomographers in 2003. Since then, the event has been open to all camera-users. The spirit of lomography – to ‘shoot from the hip’, however, still drives this project, and this is clearly seen in the wonderful images that come our way every year.
ten/twentyfour is essentially more than a document of one moment in our lives. It’s about taking a closer look at our immediate surroundings and perhaps finding things we’ve never noticed or imagined before.
2008 marks the seventh year of our project. As we welcome new participants to this year’s event, we extend our appreciation to all our past contributors. ten/twentyfour would not have been possible without you generously sharing your vision, so that the rest of us may, for one brief moment, sneak a peek into your corner of the world. Join participants from around the world as they attempt to capture one 24-hour period as it passes over several locations on the globe on October 24, 10:24 GMT.
