After ten years of Lomography in Japan, Tokyo is endowed with the country’s first Lomography Gallery Shop – a truly Analogue Space for Lomographic venture and cultural delicacies.
In a grand new building between the high-class shopping district and the untamed nightlife quarter in the heart of Aoyama and Omotesando, Lomographers worldwide can touch down on yet another international Lomography domicile and Lomographer Interface.
European style amid of the sprawling Tokyo metropolis: the Lomography Gallery Shop Tokyo features European analogue style classics such as vintage Viennese interior design, glass combined with Japanese concrete and, naturally, the complete range of Lomographic cameras, books, bags and other photography accessories.
An extensive gallery space showcases 5,000 printed images from around the world, and will comprise the permanent display. Temporary collections by Lomographers and local artists will also be exhibited regularly. A collaboration between Lomography and the Kunsthalle Wien (Contemporary Art Museum) will give an additional perspective to the exhibitions.
A great chance for everyone in Tokyo to either take their first steps into the vast field of Lomography or to delve into the Lomographic way of life.
