Lomography School Project in Cairo ended over 6 years ago

A school class Lomography project in Cairo.

After many successful projects in the past, Lomography in Cairo is back in full throttle:

For the cultural days (Sunday, June 15th – Tuesday, June 17th, 2008) at the German Evangelic Secondary School of Cairo, Helga Sursock (curator and Lomography Ambassador of Cairo), Kathrin Klaus (teacher of elementary class 1B) and twenty five of their closest seven-year-olds are initiating this year’s big Cairo-LomoWall project.

After last years digital project, the class felt ready for a new challenge. Equipped with Lomgraphic tools and film (most notably the Fisheye2, the SuperSampler and the Colorsplash camera), the trigger-happy 7-year-olds shot a total of 120 rolls of film during their class outings to the Fagnoun Art School and the ancient sites of Sakkara and Dahshour.

The youngsters, with the help of their mothers and Helga and Kathrin, will be designing, sticking and building a three by six LomoWall. With a panel size of 61cm by 91cm each, this would make a 183cm by 546cm LomoWall to be displayed during the three day event.

Apart from Cairo’s vivid LomoWall, visitors may expect the best of dance, music, choir, theatre and acting, by and with the 1200 students of the school, as well as a big final open-air concert.

Lomography would like to thank the Austrian Embassy Cairo, Helga from the Lomography Embassy Cairo and Kathrin for their support.
