  A month ago, me and my boyfriend went for a little trip to Zeeland, Vlissingen, to eat some local fresh yummy mussels. I had my Diana for some months but due the boring Belgian weather and never getting the chance to have some vacation, this was the best moment to take her out for the first time.

  If you are interested in modern architecture, and you are on a holiday in Amsterdam, you should visit the ARCAM, the centre of architecture. The building itself is a great peace of architecture designed by Dutch architect René van Zuuk in 2003. It is situated between NEMO and the shipping museum.

  What makes Amsterdam such a special city are the Grachten which crosses the whole (inner)city annular. “Gracht” is Dutch for canal. The Grachten are small waterways spanned by lots of bridges. The start of their building was in 1612 because of more comfortably transport of wares form one depository to another but also for drainage and defense.

  NEMO is the biggest science center all over The Netherlands. You can see it when you arrive at the Central station (the central station) because of its extraordinary architecture – it looks like a big green ship - designed by Renzo Piano. It was built in 1997 and is situated on the fundamentals of the IJtunnel.

  One of the most interesting shopping possibilities in Amsterdam is the several street-markets which can be found all over the city. The most famous one is maybe the Waterlooplein –market. There you can buy second-hand clothing but also new clothes, dvds, cds, rummage, and so on. It has its own metro-station and it is open from Monday to Saturday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

  The Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam was built in 1883 by the English Imperial Continental Gas Association (ICGA). The fabric is now the home of cultural events, artists, bars, cinema. You can chill in the Westerpark as well and enjoy the view of the beautiful old factory.

  Amsterdam... one of my favorite cities I have ever spent my holidays! There are lots of sightseeing objects in Amsterdam, for example the Van Gogh Museum. It is the main museum with Van Goghs works, also very early ones. Also very interesting is the Rijksmuseum, where you can watch Dutch art from 16th to 19th century or the Rembrandthuis, which was the house of Rembrandt (what a surprise!).
