Mistaken for Strangers ended 4 months ago

Brothers have their ups and downs. They can be close and inspire each other or let their differences drive them apart. The new movie "Mistaken for Strangers” documents the pursuits of indie-rock band The National, and explores the hilarious and touching relationship between the lead singer Matt Berninger, and his lovable brother Tom.

Matt and Tom were close when they were young, always sharing movies and motivating each other. Yet when Matt became the lead singer of the hugely successful indie rock band The National, the two developed different tastes and grew apart. On one of the biggest tours of his career, Matt invited his movie-making brother to join along as a roadie. On tour, Tom filmed anything he could with his handheld camera, creating a comedic portrayal of the members and ignoring his roadie duties. Little did Matt know that this experience would soon become “Mistaken for Strangers” , more than just a film about The National, but an exploration into the relationship of the two brothers. Michael Moore calls the film, “One of the best documentaries about a band I’ve ever seen,” and Pitchfork calls it, "the funniest, most meta movie since “Spinal Tap.” The movie comes out in theaters, on demand and on iTunes this Friday, March 28th.
