Greatest Show on Earth: LomoKino Competition ended about 2 years ago

Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages. photokina 2012 is right around the corner, so let's all get in the mood for it! Remember the circus and all of its colorful characters? Here's your chance to relive that magic through your work and maybe win free tickets for photokina 2012.

So you’re a fan of photokina and you can get yourself to Cologne, Germany, but you have no tickets to get into photokina 2012. Here’s your chance to win 2 tickets! Can’t make it to photokina because of geographical issues? No problem. You can win piggies too! But you better hope you know the circus and have a LomoKino on hand, because this rumble is about movies that are inspired by the circus!

Rediscover burlesque and silent movies and rejuvenate that magical world of the circus. You can be inspired by Charlie Chaplin’s slapstick, black and white humor or the picturesque burlesque. A simple clown character and a hilarious script-writing skill might even do. Anything goes as long as you got your inspiration from the extra-extraordinary circus life! So step right up, take that LomoKino and start recording! Camera, roll, action!

When you’re done, submit your entry/entries by posting the link/s to your movie/s in the comments section below, make sure you write what movie inspired you.This rumble runs for a whole month, giving you plenty of time to conceptualize and execute your scenes!

Details:

  • Any movie filmed with the LomoKino
  • 5 submissions limit
  • Meta data must be completed (camera, film, location & 3 tags)
  • Other: Sound may be included but please make sure you have the right of use.
  • Deadline for submissions is September 2, 2012.
  • The winner gets to choose his/her prize: 20 piggy points or 2 free entries to photokina 2012.
  • Two runner ups will receive 10 piggy points each.

    This clip is a music video performed by my band "Old Gypsy Man's Hat". The song is called "Tobacco" and we wrote and recorded it ourselves :) The clip was inspired by the different costumes the actors wore in the silent films. Of course there is music in silent films too :) To ad some spice, I painted directily on the film, since in the early years of film making, there weren't any computers to add special effects :)
