Remember that old neighborhood you used to play as a kid? Think it's still there? Well, if it's up to us you'll find out soon enough! Lomography the Netherlands is collaborating with the GRID for their Photography Biennial 2012! Take a ride back to the future and win awesome prizes!

GRID International Photography Biennial is a Photography Biennial that takes place once every 2 years. This year it’s from May 16th to July 1st 2012. During the exhibit you’ll be able to see work of international up and coming talent. Most of which haven’t even been on display in the Netherlands. And the coolest part? Your work could be included in the exhibit!
The theme for GRID2012 is ‘Urban Reality Check’. Together with the guys and dolls of GRID2012 we made a special Rumble for this theme! It’s all about the change in your own neighborhood (or the one you grew up in). Think of that one venue you used to frequent, the awesome swing set in the communal park or those secret spots you used to hang out (but didn’t tell your mom about). What happened to those spots? Think they’re still there and most importantly, would you recognize your favorite spots of time gone by?
Your task, should you choose to accept it…
Visit your parental unit and rifle through those old photo albums. Find some pictures of you and the urban setting you grew up in. Your house, the street, park, the mall, anywhere really as long as you have some awesome memories of the place. Then grab your analogue camera and run over to the spot in the pictures! We want you to make exactly the same picture! Together with the original you submit the ‘new’ version of your picture and show us how the spot changed.
As an example we’ve found a good series of images made by Christoph and it’s one in a series named Back to the future by Irina Werning.

so, the older photo should be a photo that you yourself did not take? it has to be an old photo you dug up from your parents?
jennson

@jeffr - yes/no. it actually doesn't matter who took that photo. as long as it reminds you to a certain spot where you grew up.
