grazie
congrats @dakadev_pui !
and fo sho shatzy took that? wow!!
boobert
@grazie , fo sho shatzy took that one, she must be on her 70s or 80s right now. thus, she cant even remember what camera and film she used. @icuresick @boredbone
ponz
this one was easy, the pictures that fitted the rules where really few...even the one who won :D
boobert
@ponz but if you check the last photo, it (the old photo) was either scanned or taken by a digi cam. how did that fit the rules and won? it didnt even have a meta data. just my observation.
ponz
even the fourth is metadataless :D anyway, every photo in this site was scanned ....there's no other way to put an analogue picture in the internet :D if you remember the gallery of the rumble there where everything, b/w pictures of childrens, color pictures of something, color pictures of cats, b/w pictures of dogs... there where just 20 pictures(more or less) that fitted the rules :D
boobert
@ponz what i meant was, its an existing, old photo print that was scanned and absolutely no way that she was the one who took the picture. unless she's 70+ yrs old now.
boredbone
if only robert capa could comment.

@boobert well according to the rumble rules, we were looking for any analogue photo/s of soldiers in black and white. It doesn't matter if it's an actual combat photo or an emulated one. The idea is to be creative and improvise. The rules are very simple, no need to get all technical. :)
boobert
@nyebe, we all know that photos to be submitted in all rumbles has to be his/her own. But taking credit for a photo taken by another person (in 1939)? I dont think that's the kind of creativity LSi push for.

Where's the love?
We're after the spirit of the competition. Is it so wrong to send in a photo of a statue? Just as long as it jives and meshes well with the concept and overall theme of the rumble, then great! If not, we move along. It's that simple. If we picked less than five winners, some members of the community will complain as well. It's all about striking a balance and working with what we've got.
We've had several rumbles in the past where we asked the community to send in scans of old photographs from your attic. Granted this isn't the same rumble, but like I said, we're after the spirit of the rumble. It's not like @shatzy claimed it was hers or alluded to that fact. If you check out the whole album where it was in, it's full of old scans. I don't want to assume but I'd hazard a guess it was from old family photos. The album name after all is "Famiglia analogica". Again, I'm only making an assumption but it isn't like she thumbed through an old photography book, or picked random Vivian Maier snaps and tried to pass them off as her own. So please relax on the witch hunt.
And as far as having 'Robert Capa standards' are concerned, you can show us a photo you took that can rival Capa's and I'll give you Piggies on the spot, right here, right now.
