Occupy Lomography Rumble ended about 3 years ago

If you've missed the news, you'd better stop living under a stone. Several protest movements have begun taking over the world in a fight against economic inequality, corporate greed and lobbyists' influence on government. What started as a protest in Wall Street NYC, has now become a global phenomenon.

We’ve seen it all. Just turn on your TV or grab a newspaper. People are unhappy with how the system works right now and think it’s about time to make global-wide serious statements. Some of them wave anti-fascist slogans on billboards, while others occupy city squares with groups of people stating, “We are the 99%”.

And since we are all part of that 99% we want to offer you a space to speak your mind. To date, protests have taken place in over 900 cities across Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe and the Americas. Now it’s time to use our medium, analogue photography and voice our thoughts. Upload images of what you want the world to hear. If you want to write a blog post to accompany your pictures, go for it! Post the link to your post in the comments below. Let’s take advantage of this Global platform to start a pro-active conversation. Anything goes!

What a great idea! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend any of the protests, but I submitted some shots taken during other political rallies- in the spirit of the movement, so to speak, because I support them with all my heart and soul! :)

    Revolt is coming!!!

the father type that was once on the sence vanished
supreme bamish the couples that match these
producin generations of kids with latched keys
    her daughter learned from momma
how to reject men, her sons attracts women
that don't respect men, and then
one parental provided can be the plan
but no woman can truly teach a boy to be a man
that's why I'm always telling these many pals of mine

"What started as a protest in Wall Street NYC, has now become a global phenomenon."

What? The protest started before in North African countries like Tunisia, Egypt or Lybia against dicatators, and after that in European countries like Spain or Greece against economic inequality, corporate greed and lobbyists' influence on government.

Do you remember 15M or #SpanishRevolution?

@alehopgm: the protests did in fact start in North Africa, but the term "occupy" was coined in Wall Street.

@gabysalas: the "occupying" of public squares started in SPAIN just after the 15M (#AcampadaSol, #AcampadaBCN) thats a fact stated even in the NY times. But it doesn't matters where it starts, what really matters is how it will end ;)

@kneehigh85 What ever gave you that idea? The world is so crazy at the moment that I find myself questioning everything. I'm not quite saying trust nobody but I don't take things at face value anymore.

We sit still to get things done. We're always first, but we've never won. We've become walking contraditions Living in a world of fiction Where lethargy is the new action Time after time the chain reaction Of what we do, not what we say It's the timeless hypocracy

I posted a photo of from the Los Angeles Styrofoam Orchestra. The music created from the smashed styrofoam was something that many people came to hear. A smash to the styrofoam was symbolic of the similiarities that would be considered on a sound system. In other words, there were no speakers neither electronic nor physical. It was pure sound. The smashed styrofoam of the Styrofoam Orchestra created its own system of music while breaking the boundaries of the common street sounds of the urban city. There are many forms of occupation. There are many different kinds of systems. The styrofoam music occupied the urban ecosystem of noise while still existing within both the solar system and the world.
