'Merdeka' means Independence in Malay! It’s the Independent Day of Malaya on 31st August 1957. The establishment of Malaysia fell on 16th September 1963 when Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak joined Malaya to form Malaysia.

Years after a few decades, we, Malaysians, still celebrate the Independent Day and the Malaysia Day with full joys and spirits. Tons of celebration and events are ongoing in the schools, cities, and ‘kampung’ (village in Malay!) in the months of August and September, which are known as the patriotic months.
Lomography Malaysia would like to invite the whole Lomography community to join the fun of Malaysians too! All you need to do is to submit shots of objects with the color combination of red, white, yellow and blue, these are the colors of Malaysian flag “Jalur Gemilang”! Which means, you don’t have to be a Malaysian or be in Malaysia to take part of this!
Well, of course Malaysians, you are encouraged to submit shots that showcase the ongoing celebrations and colorful street deco, so everyone else in the community could share the joy!
The most creative photo with matching color theme will win away delicious 15 piggies while 1st runner up will receive 10 piggies and 2nd runner up will receive 5 piggies. What’s more? Anyone who leaves a comments and a few words on what they feel about Malaysia will win 5 piggies!!! Good luck!

- Prize(s): 1 winner of 15 Piggies, 1st runner up of 10 piggies and 2nd runner up of 5 piggies. All winners will receive a special award badge straight to their LomoHomes.
