Community mainstay mephisto19's new monthly competition has just ended and he's quick on the draw in announcing the winners. Here they are!
Over two thousand submissions have been received for Mephisto’s March Rumble with the theme “couples/pairs” – that is a lot. Thank you for liking the idea and submitting so many good photos.
What is it that makes two photos needed? When do they start to interact? Do they tell a story? Or is it “just” a second try, a photo that is actually not needed, because it does not give more information or another impression?
Looking through the photos was very interesting. Sometimes I expected a different photo in combination, sometimes I was surprised.
But now finally the winning photos:
life_on_mars made a very good couple/pair shot. Look at it and you see the idea of the rumble. You have on one side a tree, on the other leaves, one part is dark, the other more bright. The connection is not only the tree and the leaves, but also the portrait appearing in the double exposure and here you have another nice effect – the complementary contrast of the colour splash flash, one time red, one time green.

lolfox takes us to the tennis court. Adding these two photos to another lets them communicate, lets the two tennis players interact, lines somehow fit to another though the two photos were taken from a different point of view as you can see in the shadows, but the match to make a tennis match.

Approaching is what xxxanderrr does. You see a lake and plank in Finnland on the first photo, on the second one you are on that plank and can see the details: two red water cans with a flower head standing there. I leave the story up to you, but I am sure you will see a connection, see what happened.
Dear myloveltter What shall I do? I cannot decide to take one couple you submitted as all your three Diana Mini half frame compositions fit very well into the idea of that rumble! But look yourself
Testing his camera, eatclicklove made a nice diptych according to the golden rule to shoot day and night
What is happening here? Two vehicles, did they just pass each other or are they about to crash? kleeblatt takes us on a ride with her Spinner360
I count six winners. Congratulations! Each of you will get five piggy points. Enjoy them.
I still want to mention some other couples/pairs that made it in my closest choice:
And there is already the next rumble up! Mephistos April Rumble: Local / Traditional Food
PLEASE ADD META DATA!!! Some photos did not make it because they did not fulfill those requirements!
