The Red Church and the Forces of Darkness

Костёл святого Симеона и святой Елены - Church of Saints Simon and Helena, built 1905-1910. It was a church (really!), later a theatre and film studio, then a church, after ww2 a cinema and now it's a church again. The sculpture (done by I. Gobulev), built in 1996, is symbolizing the victory of the heavenly host over the forces of darkness. Behind the chirch you have a Stalin architecture building what is really a crazy contrast.
