New York is more than just a city. It’s a feeling. When it gets its greasy hooks into you, it never lets go. Many New Yorkers can never leave, and the ones who do always take a part of the city with them. Because of this, New York is more than just a US city. It is a city for the world.

That’s why as part of the upcoming New York City MOMA Lomowall instillations, we’d like to see a part of New York in your world.
There is the iconic New York – the Statue of Liberty souvenir at the Pyramids, the yellow taxicab lumbering down some European street, or the Yankees’ cap on the head of a child in Tokyo.
But there is also the New York inspiration that you see in the architecture, street art, faces, signs, bridges, and in the multi-ethnic spirit of melting-pot cultures around the world.
Here’s what we’re looking for again:
Architecture, Street Art, Fashion, Bridges, Bars, Store fronts, Holiday lights and store windows, Faces, Police and Firemen, Churches, temples, & mosques…, Taxis, buses, and other traffic jammers, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Harlem, Coney Island, Brighton Beach, and every corner of this sprawling city! Freaks, geeks and clowns, Alligators in the subways, elephants coming through the midtown tunnel, black squirrels and other animals,… And everything else that makes New York NEW YORK!
And please do not forget to tag all the pix extensively so we can make things match at the LomoWalls.
We need your photos to be at least 1200×1800 pixels for 35mm shots, or 1500×1500 for square format. One thing you count on from New Yorkers is that they always keep it real. So please do the same and dump your Photoshop tricks in the East River, Capish?
- Deadline for submissions is Wednesday December 3rd 2008, so don’t dilly-dally!
- For your participation 5 piggy points will come your way if we include at least one picture taken by you. Winners are set to be announced in the middle of December!
- No upload limit
