I was in Vilnius recently for work and had only one day to walk around the city – it was definitely a perfect day! Vilnius city center is quite small so very easy to discover by foot. At first, I wandered around without a clear objective in which then turned out to be the Jewish ghetto. As a matter of fact the city was once known as the Jerusalem of the North and you can still see many traces of this community in the narrow and historic streets of this part of town.

The Žaliasis Tiltas, or “Green Bridge” is the oldest bridge in Vilnius. This bridge is one of the interesting places to see in Vilnius. It's hard to overlook the four massive Soviet sculptures at its corners. Green Bridge is the only bridge in Vilnius boasting sculptures of any kind.

Vilnius city center is characterized above all by baroque, Gothic and renaissance constructions so I was really surprised when, from a hill, I saw an impressive soviet looking building standing like a huge vessel on the other side of the river Neris.

Vilnius is proudly named the European capital of culture in 2009, so this is why I just have to tell you a lot of good things about it. And if starting about the old part of the town, the first place you must see is the old Pilies g-ve (or Castle Street).

This story is so hot today, that I just can not pass it without mentioning something about it. The Palace (or Castle) of Lithuanian Rulers (or Monarchs, or Kings). It can be even named the Castle of the Rulers of Lithuania... So no such real name? How can it be?

Lomo Days Festival in Vilnius, Lithuania was organized and curated by me, Neja aka Julia Svetlova, in Lithuanian capital Vilnius for the 1st time in May 2006. During 4 days Vilnius inhabitants could experience many Lomographic activities: we did Lomo Fish Day party in collaboration with top famous DJ crew One Ear Stereo at Zalia Papuga bar. Party involved music, dancing, massive Fisheye Curtains made out of images created with fisheye camera all around the Globe, and the night's highlight- LOMO LAB. 15 Colorsplash and Fisheye cameras were given away to people along with 2 rolls of film per each person.

Music... it's all about some kind of sound which makes us happy, groovy or even moving and spinning, right? But what about the real music, the acoustic part of it? I find myself going crazy when I find the acoustic versions of my favorite POP, ROCK or even HOUSE songs. That is why I was the first to join Vilnius, Lithuanian capital, where there was the STREET MUSICIAN DAY festival. You will not hear the good known names of participants, as there were only some of them that day on the streets. Whatever, streets were filled up with people with guitars, drums and so on.

If you like dancing in the clubs, then probably there is a little chance, that you will like it. If you are keen on watching others dance, then probably there is a big chance, that you will like it. In other words, New Baltic Dance festival is all about modern dance and art itself.
