Pinhole Art DIY 135

My wife bought me the Pinhole Art DIY 135 a few years back and I have slowly accumulated an album of greatly unique shots. This is my first pinhole camera and it has presented a few challenges, but these challenges have helped me to learn more photography skills along the way.

Firstly, if you have an interest in this camera you will need patience, mainly because it is going to take a bit of time for you to construct it. It comes with instructions and and most of the necessary tools to turn all of the pieces into a functioning camera. You will also need patience when taking photos because everything must be taken as a long exposure.
Next, you will need to posses the willingness to experiment, especially with exposure times and different film speeds and lighting situations.

Finally, you will need to have a great love for very unique shots because the end result of your photos are going to be much different than with any other camera.

A few things that have learned along the way:

• Try to make the camera as light tight as possible because if the it is not built so that all of the pieces fit perfectly with one another you will have many light leaks on your images.
• Draw a line on the film advance knob with a marker, so that you can more easily judge how much you need to rotate the knob before you can shoot your next frame.
• If you don’t want too many light leaks, look at your photos to see where light is entering the camera and cover these areas with gaffer tape.

Also, this camera is very light because it is made out a very light wood material, so it makes it quite easy to carry with you. I sometimes put it in my back pocket when we go for a walk, that way my hands are free, but I still have a camera in case I find something interesting to take a photo of.

Overall this is a really fun camera to experiment with and to help you learn the art of photography. I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone who is interested in taking unique photos with a one of a kind camera.
